RFID Pros:
RFID locks advance your security better than any other electronic locking system. They offer a quick and safe way to access your cash, important documents, and valuables.
RFID locks can have multiple cards or fobs that scan to open the lock in a few seconds which makes them more convenient than traditional locks. Don’t worry about fumbling around trying to find the right key or trying to remember a combination code, simply swipe a card, scan a key fob, or open the lock using your phone.
This provides a convenient and secure solution for any space. Whether that be for residential use, hospitals, offices, or other high security spaces.
Your home is much safer when you use an RFID lock to conceal your valuables compared to any other lock. RFID locks improve children’s safety in your home. Keeping your firearms out of your children’s reach is very important.
Although a gun safe would be the safest option. You may still want to access your firearms quickly in case of an emergency. RFID locks are a great option if you want to keep your firearms accessible but still out of reach for your children.
The best part about Lock Connections RFID locks is that they are easy to install. Directions are included with every lock you purchase. If you need additional help or guidance, you can always reach out to customer service and talk to a person every time you call.
RFID Cons:
RFID locks will not function without power source. You must have batteries or plug them into something for them to work. If you must plug in the lock, then it may not be fully concealed depending on your application.
On average batteries are changed between 8 and 12 months, if you use batteries, you must change them frequently. There’s also a low battery alarm to give you an indication when batteries have low voltage. Change your batteries out as soon as you hear this alarm. If you do not change your batteries out in time, the lock will release.
Your case will be unlocked and not secure. Theres also a chance that the lock could stay locked and make it difficult to get into your case. We recommend changing them at least once a year depending upon how often you open your application.
If you wait too long to change the batteries, they could erode over time. This could damage the lock. Unlike traditional locks where you don’t need a power source. Just a key or number digit code will open the lock.
Another disadvantage to having RFID locks is the risk of accidentally deprograming your lock. If you push buttons on the lock, the RFID cards can be deprogramed from the lock.
Additionally, each lock comes with a manager card, this can be used only to program other user cards to the lock. If you scan the manager card too many times you could accidentally erase all the user cards, and you will not be able to use those to open the lock anymore.
Furthermore, an RFID lock is much harder to fix when there is an issue compared to a traditional lock. If you ever have issues, you can contact Lock Connection to get your lock back in working order. Lock Connection ensures their locks have everything necessary for them to work. Some of our RFID locks are programmed in the USA.
