4 AAA batteries required, but not included. The plug is 2.5mm. When your batteries lose all their power, you will need an external power supply to open the lock so you can change the batteries. This is an Emergency External Power Supply for all Armstrong electronic products that have a plug port on the lock: SDWC-MC001W, SDWC-004, SDWC-005, SDWC-006, SWDP-MC001W, SDWP-MC002W, SDWP-MC003W, SDWF-MC001, SDWF-MC002, SDGC-MC417, SDGP-MC417 and CL-01. This external power supply will not work if you have a lock and are using our Power Jack cable with it. The external power supply that is needed to work with our Power Jack Cables are PS-002-3.5. This has the 3.5mm plug. Also is a power supply for some locks by American Security, Amsec 0635248 Override Battery Box. These are for safes with the DL6000 electronic Locks by American Security.
